How to set up Promotions in Agentforce Revenue Management
Bishwendra Singh
For years, Salesforce CPQ users had to rely on custom solutions and manual workarounds to launch even the simplest sales campaigns because a dedicated promotion engine was not available out of the box. That has finally changed with Agentforce Revenue Management (formerly known as Revenue Cloud Advanced or Revenue Lifecycle Management or RLM). In spring ’26, Agentforce Revenue Management introduces a native, out-of-the-box promotion engine that empowers pricing designers to create both manual and automatic offers across products and categories with just a few simple clicks. In this article, we will describe how to set up promotions in Agentforce Revenue Management, as well as create a new promotion to fully test its capabilities. If you want to read more about its features and how it helps businesses streamline revenue management, refer to our post on LinkedIn.
Prerequisites: The checklist for enabling promotions.
Before diving into the configuration, your Salesforce environment must meet the following technical needs.
Licensing
Ensure your org has the Global Promotions Management Basic Add On license along with either the Revenue Cloud Growth or the Revenue Cloud Advanced license.
Agentforce Revenue Management Setup
Your Salesforce environment must have the basic Agentforce Revenue Management setup completed, enabling you to create a quote.
Activate Global Promotions Management
Under the carpet, Agentforce Revenue Management uses the Global Promotions Management engine, which is a part of Loyalty Management. But, you don’t need Loyalty Management licenses to use Promotions in Agentforce Revenue Management.
- From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Global Promotions Management Settings, and then select Global Promotions Management Settings.
- Turn on Global Promotions Management. [Once it’s turned on, you can’t turn it off.], click OK
- Turn on Product Catalog Management and click OK
- Also turn on Promotion Evaluation and Execution and click OK
Permissions
- Assign the Global Promotions Management Basic Psl, and Revenue Management Promotions Run Time permission set licenses to your user.
- Assign the following permission sets to the relevant personas.
- Apply Promotions on Sales Transactions
- Promotion Designer Basic
- Promotion Viewer
Step 1: Update the extended Product Discovery Context Definition
As a part of your basic agentforce revenue management setup, you would have extended the standard ProductDiscoveryContext (ProductDiscoveryContext__stdctx), in our case, we call it RC_ProductDiscoveryContext

- Navigate to your extended Product Discovery Context Definition from setup.
- Click Deactivate to disable your context definition; to achieve this, you may first have to deactivate the discovery pricing procedure and the qualification procedure that are linked to this context definition.
- After it’s inactive, navigate to Map Data tab.
- Click the dropdown action menu next to the ProductDiscoveryPromoMapping and click Edit SObject Mapping, click Map and then click Proceed
- Click the Account node on the left-hand pane and see if you are able to assign the field for the CurrencyISOCode attribute. If yes, update the value to CurrencyISOCode and then skip to Step 2. But if the field is locked, then follow the instruction below:

- Navigate back to the Map Data tab
- Click the dropdown action menu next to the ProductDiscoveryPromoMapping and click Clone
- Enter a name for the new mapping ‘ProductDiscoveryPromoMapClone‘ (make sure the name is less than 30 characters)
- Click Proceed to open the Object Mapping UI.
- Select the Account node from the left-hand pane and then select CurrencyISOCode in the field against the CurrencyISOCode attribute.

- Click Save
- Navigate back to the context definition detail page and Activate the context definition. (Also make sure to reactivate your discovery pricing and qualification procedures.)
Step 2: Update Product Discovery Settings
- Navigate to Product Discovery Settings from Setup > Quick Find > Search ‘Product Discovery Settings’
- Select the Promotion Context Mapping (which has the CurrencyISOCode attribute mapped.)

Step 3: Create a Rule Library
A Rule Library maps context definition tags to the fields used for defining promotions. You must use your extended Sales Transaction context for mapping fields.
- Open the App Launcher and look for Rule Libraries
- Click on New.
- Type in a name and an API name.
- In the “Context Definition Name of first default version” field, type the API name of your extended sales transaction context definition.
- Choose Promotions with Revenue Management as the Usage Type.
- Save.

- Click the name in the list of Rule Library Versions.
- Connect the mapping names to the context tags. For every mapping mentioned below in the table:
a. Click New in the Custom Tag Mapping section.
b. Choose a name for the mapping and then choose its context tag.
c. Save.
| Mapping Name | Context Tag |
| productSellingModel | ProductSellingModel |
| accountId | Account |
| cartLineItemId | LineItem |
| cartLineProductId | Product |
| currencyISOCode | CurrencyIsoCode |
| cartLineProductCategoryId | ProductCategory |
| activityStartDate | StartDate |
| cartLineCouponCode | SalesTransactionItemCouponCode__std |
| shouldEvaluatePromotions | ShouldEvaluatePromotions__std |
| productBundleRootId | RootItemProduct |
- Now Activate the rule library version

Step 4: Update Revenue Settings
- Navigate to Revenue Settings from Setup > Quick Find > Search ‘Revenue Settings’
- Turn on Promotions for Transactions
- Select the Rule Library created above.

Step 5: Integrate Promotions into your Pricing Procedure
To see discounts applied in real time, add a Promotion Execution element to your pricing procedure.
Note: It is not possible to use derived pricing and promotions together in the same pricing procedure. If you are using Derived Pricing, make sure to delete the element before adding the Promotion Execution element.
- Open the App Launcher and look for Pricing Procedures
- Open the active version of the pricing procedure you are using for pricing quotes and orders.
- Click Deactivate
- Scroll down to the Bundle-based adjustment list group that contains the Bundle-Based Price element.

- Click (+) and select List Group to add a new list group element.
- Configure the list operations element as described below.

| Resource | Operator | Value |
| IsContracted | Is Null | |
| IsContracted | Equals | false |
| ItemPricingSource | Not Equals | LastTransaction |
- Add Promotion Execution element after the List Operations by clicking on (+)
- Select the Rule Library created in step 3.
- Configure the Promotion Execution element as described below.
- Save and then Activate the pricing procedure.

Now it’s time to test
Navigate to the Promotions & Offers app from the app launcher.

Click New Promotion to create a new promotion
Enter primary information and make sure you select the same rule library as created in Step 3.

Click Next, and leave everything off for Promotion Eligibility options, as we are configuring a simple promotion here.

Now Click Next and Select the Promotion Template (There is only one available in Agentforce Revenue Management at the moment)

Click Next and configure the Promotion Template as described below. Here you can specify the product or category where the promotion shall be applied and also the type of promotion, whether it’s a percentage off or an amount off.

Click Next to review and activate your promotion.

Click Activate.
Now Open a quote and click Browse Catalog to add a new product to the quote.
You shall be able to see the promotion banner on top (if your promotion is applied to a category) and promotion pill on all products in that category.

When you hover over the promotion pill, you shall be able to see the details of the promotions that we just created and activated above.

If your product is configurable, when you click on configure, you will also be able to see the promotion details and the price updated in real time as the promotion gets applied automatically.
